Abstract
[This abstract is based on the author's abstract.]Applications of control charts in healthcare monitoring and public health surveillance are introduced to industrial practitioners. Ideas that originate in this venue that may be applicable in industrial monitoring are discussed. Relevant contributions in the industrial statistical process control literature are considered.
