Abstract
The Quality Audit Handbook emerged from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Quality Audit Division Certification Committee's development of a body of knowledge for the Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) program. The Handbook first became available in January 1997. During 1997, the Certification Committee and the Quality Audit Division Standards Committee improved the design of the CQA body of knowledge. Topics added to the body of knowledge included: personal and corporate liability issues, record keeping liability issues, and logistical planning. This paper lists 22 other new topics. A second edition of the Handbook will appear in 1999. Meanwhile, ASQ and the Holmes Corporation are developing a CQA computerized Self-Directed Learning Program that will reflect the updated body of knowledge.
