Abstract

[This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.]Selected findings from a major international study on how business excellence awards are administered worldwide are considered. Results of the study indicate that Business Excellence Framework custodians operate an effective awards process benefiting both evaluators and organizations. International practices varied, but the authors describe the practices in relation to these areas of difference. Custodians in general have an effective recognition and award process, but the process has often become the prime focus to the detriment of other processes focused on creating awareness of business excellence and how to apply it. Findings from the project were used to redesign the Business Excellence Framework and are expected to bolster national business excellence strategies worldwide.
