Abstract

The Industrial Training Group associates monthly training program is the venue for Quality Skills Training (QST), which reinforces quality as part of the organizational culture. Originally developed by outside consultants, the QST training modules became more meaningful when the companys internal Quality Improvement Process Coordinators took ownership of the program, gathering associate input and developing topics and training. Each QST module includes training objectives, a focus exercise, review of the company vision, presentation of the training topic, summary, and closure. The focus exercise emphasizes group participation and sharing. A sample teaching guide for the Creativity QST is provided.
