Abstract

[This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.]The relationships among organizational culture, knowledge management, and patient safety performance in the healthcare industry are investigated. A test model for patient safety performance is developed using data from existing literature and a survey of more than 200 hospitals. Results show that different dimensions of organizational culture result in more effective knowledge management and, subsequently, better patient safety performance. Major implications of the study for the healthcare industry and opportunities for further research are discussed.
