Abstract
[This abstract is based on the author’s abstract.]Studies have shown that exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) control charts are superior to Shewhart charts for quick detection of small process shifts. This study examines the performance of the EWMA control chart in the presence of two-component measurement error encountered in analytical chemistry and environmental settings. It is possible to reduce the effect of measurement error by taking multiple measurements at each sample point.
