Abstract

The Journal of Quality Technology (JQT) Editor Search Committee is pleased to announce Dr. Rong Pan as the next Editor of JQT. Dr. Pan will serve as Editor-Elect for 2024 and as the Editor for 2025–2027. Dr. Pan is a Professor of Industrial Engineering and Data Science in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence at Arizona State University. He has over 90 publications in top quality and reliability engineering/applied statistics journals such as JQT, Technometrics, Quality and Reliability Engineering International, Quality Engineering (QE), IEEE Transactions on Reliability, and Reliability Engineering and System Safety. Dr. Pan is a past Associate Editor of IEEE (2018–2021), has been on the Editorial Review Boards of JQT and QE since 2006 and 2011, respectively, and served as the Book Review Section Editor for JQT since 2019. He was also a guest editor of the QE Special Issue on Reliability Engineering in 2017, 2020, and 2023.

As an author, Editorial Review Board member, and the Book Review Section Editor of JQT, Dr. Pan has made extensive contributions to the ASQ’s flagship journal. His research experience in the design of experiments, quality and reliability engineering, and machine learning gives him a distinct outlook on the future direction of our research community. Dr. Pan is well-qualified to assume the role of Editor, and we are confident that he will continue to expand the tremendous work of JQT Editors in providing leadership to the community of researchers and practitioners in the area of quality technology.
