Abstract
[This abstract is based on the author's abstract.]
The Hersey-Blanchard situational leadership model holds that when leaders are flexible and aware of critical situational factors, such as the ability and willingness of members to change, they will adopt an appropriate leadership style. A case study is presented that illustrates that an effective quality system can be implemented even when the organizational culture is not consistent with the definition of a quality culture. Results of the study indicate a relationship between leadership style and quality outcomes.
