Abstract
ASQ's International Team Excellence Award (ITEA) is an effective program for recognizing a quality team's contributions to the parent organization. The criteria by which a team's performance is measured for the ITEA program can also be a powerful model for structuring team projects. A high-level review of the ITEA program criteria is discussed, as well as tips from former participants. Using the ITEA criteria as a problem-solving strategy can be extremely useful for finding and implementing solutions outside of the award context.
