Abstract
Negative feedback is an important resource for analyzing the effectiveness of a process, but it often is accompanied by discomfort. Employees can provide invaluable input with negative feedback; however, the corporate environment must be one where the employee feels safe enough to make honest observations and recommendations. Wise leaders not only welcome such input, but they actively encourage it. Effective action on negative feedback requires a leader to separate the emotion from the feedback and to objectively evaluate the identified issues.
