Abstract

[This abstract is based on the author's abstract.] Company leaders must understand how to establish a lean manufacturing system. The Toyota Production System gave rise to the discipline called lean manufacturing or lean thinking. Measurables can be developed to track the effectiveness of the system in improving profitability and company growth. Certain problems identified by practitioners can be avoided when implementing a lean manufacturing system.
