Abstract

Southern California Edison Information Technology and Business Integration’s comprehensive continuous improvement initiative includes the following: Strategy - Increase visibility and focus on continuous improvement efforts to better meet business needs; Approach - Achieveoptimal performance through a consistent approach involving people, processes, and tools; People - Focus on building practitioner capability by establishing a community of practice; Process - Use an industry best practice process structure; Tools - Lean Six Sigma todrive simple, lean, effective process improvement; Results - In 2009, achieved a targeted 30-percent increase on 19 key performance improvement metrics.
