Abstract

The importance of quality compared to other management functions is a frequently-debated topic. Instead of struggling to rank these functions, an organization can integrate them and see improvement in all of them. In particular, ISO 9000 quality standards, ISO 26000 social responsibility standards, and ISO 31000 risk management standards can all work simultaneously to improve the quality of life of people both inside and outside the organization. Quality, social responsibility, and risk management are all directly linked to the management function, and can be integrated by keeping them within management instead of parceling them out to separate departments.
