Abstract

The barrage of shortcomings and risks impeding the integrity of U.S. elections illustrates the lack of, and need for, excellence in the U.S. electoral system. The Election Excellence Group (EEG), comprised of prominent ASQ members and subject matter experts, including representatives of the ASQ Government Division, has developed this position paper to advocate for the adoption of an election Quality Management System in U.S jurisdictions based on ISO/TS 54001 and ISO 9001.

The implementation of an eQMS across United States elections would enable quality principles to streamline and enhance each election, while bolstering American’s belief in the integrity of election processes and outcomes.
