Abstract
An auditing short list is presented that covers the issues most relevant to the manufacturing floor. The 10-item list is designed to help supervisors, operators, and inspectors get started and set priorities. Topics covered by the list are: responsibility, resources and performance, training, document and records control, manufacturing equipment, measurement equipment, identification and traceability, operating procedures, specifications, and corrective and preventative action for nonconforming products. One possible result is more open communications between shop floor employees and ISO 9001 auditors.
