Abstract

Services are a critical component of 21st century economies—so much so that organizations in traditional markets, such as industrial products, are adding service components to their products to increase revenue. Thus, the need to design services is becoming increasingly common. Because services face unique challenges, particular design considerations are required. The author offers ideas and approaches for designing services that complement traditional quality tools.
