Abstract
Rural-urban disparities in healthcare quality are a significant challenge in many countries. These disparities challenge the goal of equitable care. Often, rural communities face distinct challenges that may lead to differences in quality of care. To achieve healthcare equity, quality improvement efforts must recognize rural-specific barriers. Communities must invest in workforce and infrastructure, tailored measurement, telehealth support, community engagement and policy sensitive to rural realities.
