Abstract

For quality professionals, there’s sometimes a need for a specific approach to innovative thinking. The author outlines four well-defined approaches to stimulating spontaneous, unplanned innovation and creative thinking in situations that quality professionals can use. He also outlines four methods for purposefully seeking new and creative ideas that will redefine what the world knows about specific topics. As these approaches often bring change to an organization, quality professionals must develop plans to weaken the resisting forces and strengthen the supporting forces.
