Abstract
The modern approach to reliability assurance relies on the identification and effective control and monitoring of the upstream process attributes that affect reliability. A major goal is to improve quality and reliability by reducing process variability. Statistics and quality engineering tools play an important role in achieving this goal. Even with the emphasis on the process, there always is some amount of product reliability testing in a comprehensive reliability assurance program. The most common types of manufacturing reliability testing are burn-in and audit testing.
