Abstract

Over the years, we have learned that experimentation can be used to improve all types of processes in manufacturing and service. As with any endeavor, it is important to have a strategy to guide your work. Recognizing that experimentation is sequential— sometimes involving several phases—the SCO (screening, characterization and optimization) strategy has proven to be a high-yield strategy to guide experimentation.
