Abstract

The changes in ISO 9000:2026 strive to move the language toward greater relevance across an increasingly diverse user community. It perpetuates its mission to help users, their customers, suppliers, conformity assessors, educators, consultants and standards developers better understand the fundamentals of a good QMS. It continues to validate the reasoning and rationale that underpins ISO 9001, along with the whole portfolio of TC 176 standards. Simply stated, it provides and illustrates the “why” that brings meaning to all the “shalls” found in ISO 9001.
