Abstract
The ISO 9000 series of standards and related guidance documents are about achieving and enhancing customer satisfaction. ISO 9000 defines customer satisfaction as a customer’s perception of the degree to which their expectations have been fulfilled. This elusive concept of customer satisfaction driven by a vague definition may have made sense a few decades ago, but now this concept no longer responds to the needs and opportunities of the real world in times of relatively easy access to endless data and choices.
