Abstract

AS9100 has required risk identification and mitigation since the standard was introduced in 1999. This requirement is intended to make organizations develop a risk and opportunity culture to be proactive and preventive in improving aerospace quality management system (AQMS) results. Implementing an effective risks and opportunities process increases AQMS effectiveness, enhances desirable effects, prevents or reduces undesirable effects, and achieves improved results.
