Abstract

A manufacturing company wanted to improve its acknowledgement of orders process to decrease its turnaround time. This would increase customer satisfaction and make a customer more likely to renew its contract. The manufacturing company looked at the process to reduce waste and found that the largest waste of time came when an order was received: the sales person had to print out and summarize the order, and walk it to the approval office. If the manager was out of the office or busy, the sales associate had to come back later. Streamlining the process for a digital approval decreased the acknowledgment time and made the times more consistent.
