Abstract

Process capability was developed as a way to supplement statistical process control and can be used to interpret industrial processes. The concept was developed in Bell Labs and can be calculated as a distribution have a certain center, shape, and spread or as a percentage outside a specified limit. However, process capability can also be adapted to analyze time-based processes outside of normal distribution.
