Abstract
FMEDDS (the Five Ms—manpower, machine, materials, methods and measurement—and environment, design, data analytics and safety) is a turtle diagram-based framework that links process elements to quality, environmental and worker-safety outcomes. In this article, artificial intelligence refers to practical predictive analytics and forecasting techniques that anticipate deviations, generate early warning signals and inform recommended setpoints—not autonomous or self-directing decision making. FMEDDS functions as a closed-loop learning system: Data are continuously analyzed, insights trigger preventive action, and design and control updates are institutionalized through management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
