Abstract
Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) is a metric that can be used to determine how efficient a manufacturing organization is. OEE is determined using three factors: availability, performance and quality. Availability is a measure of a machine's downtime, performance looks at the time during which a machine is not running at optimal speed and quality covers parts produced that are not up to standard. In the automotive industry, the benchmark for OEE is 85 percent.
