Abstract

Quantum computing is not just about doing things faster, but it’s also about doing things truly intractable in classical computing. Quantum computing is catching on—and fast: The market is expected to grow to more than $1.5 billion by 2026. To feasibly scale quantum technologies, including quantum computing, we need hardware, software and supply chains that are consistent, reliable and dependable. That’s where quality comes in. Namely, a new international standards group has emerged to develop standards to promote the quantum economy. That entails the growth of the global quantum industry, as well as the supply chains born from quantum technologies’ work and the jobs created in its sphere.
