Abstract
The importance of conflict management style, self- monitoring and change orientation has been established in management sciences. Based on a sample of managers tasked with process improvement, this study suggests that the process of selecting such managers for an improvement team (Six Sigma or lean) often ignores these personality traits, thus potentially undermining the project’s fullest potential or risking failure.
