Abstract

Students in developing areas may be ill prepared for the upcoming worldwide trend toward Industry 4.0 due to the lack of availability of skills training going beyond basic education. Due to funding shortages and lack of programs addressing the latest trends, students will fall behind or be locked in academia. Some schools simply fail to provide the subject matter and access to technology, or they overemphasize rote learning while ignoring problem-solving skills and creativity integral to customer service and product development. A quality approach to learning, along with learning the principles of quality, will enable countries to bring their future workforces in line with Industry 4.0 trends.
