Abstract

Quality management principles can sometimes find their way into an organization organically. For a senior softball team in Florida, a retrospective look at the season elucidated the reasons for the team’s accession to the championship game in terms of successful quality management. Put simply, the principles emerging for success were to select good individuals, take individual evaluation and responsibility, emphasize communication over talent, take bad hops, injuries and blowups in stride, and never let the past dictate the future.
