Abstract

Theory of constraints (TOC) is a continuous improvement strategy developed by E.M. Goldratt in 1980. The theory treats an organization like a system composed of various links or elements primarily focused on achieving a common goal. The core objective of any system is to earn the highest return on investment (ROI).
