Abstract
Getting companies back on track in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic requires organizations to have flexibility, strong communication and preparedness, according to follow-up research from the 2020 QP Salary Survey. Flexibility is needed system-wide to allow employees to get their jobs done; allowing people to work from home or at other places within the organization are part of the creative solutions that have been employed to get people back to work. With so many people working from home, clear communication is needed. Face-to-face, whether in person or over video chat, is not always possible; it is important to be able to ask clear questions and give clear answers that will not require much in the way of follow-up. Being prepared ensures that employers will be able to understand the difference between investment and cost. In the short-term, keeping as many people on the payroll may cost more, but in the long-run, it is a good investment to keep good people on your team.
