US Interpretations of ISO 9001

The United States Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to TC176 provides an interpretations service for its members and users of the standard, to resolve any identified ambiguities in the standard. It also involves a process of consultation among the members of ISO/TC 176/SC2 to agree on any proposed interpretation, so the process cannot be expected to give an instantaneous response. If you, as a user, have a query on the standard you should contact the US national standards body in the first instance, using the link shown below, to seek advice on resolving it.

Users should refer to the Guidance on the interpretations process by downloading and reading the US Procedure and apply for an interpretation using the "Request for an Interpretation" form.
