Professional Experience

Tim King specializes in process improvement systems, developing quality teams to achieve assigned goals and projects, and the application of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and the Performance Excellence Criteria for the U.S. Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. He is an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence and Quality Auditor. Tim obtained his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from the Thayer School of Engineering – Dartmouth College. He is also certified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®).

Tim is the founding partner of the consulting and training firm Quality Matters LLC, based in Vermont. He is a member of the adjunct faculty team at ASQ and provides training on the fundamentals of quality management, including corrective action, lean, Six Sigma, and the various tools and methods for continuous improvement, as well as courses to prepare various ASQ certifications.

Tim served from 2000–2008 as a national examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA), and served four years as an award judge for the ASQ International Team Excellence Award (ITEA). He continues to serve as a Baldrige examiner for the states of Vermont and New Hampshire, and serves on several professional boards, including the ASQ Vermont Section.
