Prerequisites:

It is recommended that attendees have had exposure to some uncertainty budgets and have a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own examples.

  5. Type A and Type B factors
  6. Root sum squaring
  7. Uncertainty software options
  8. Expressing measurement results and uncertainties
  9. Exercises for combining error terms, significant digits, rounding numbers, NIST 811 formatting, mean/median/mode
  10. Excel calculations and regression equations
  11. Example uncertainty budgets and calculations
  12. Uncertainty auditing tips
Day 2
  1. Accreditation scopes and uncertainties
  2. CMC vs. MU vs. Z-540 uncertainties
  3. Uncertainty budget fundamentals
  4. Distribution factors in budgets
  5. Uncertainty guidance documents including accreditation body and ILAC
  6. Testing uncertainty categories
  7. Review of CITAC guide for testing uncertainties
  8. Control charting and repeatability studies
  9. Guard banding
  10. Alternatives to GUM uncertainties
  11. Attendee uncertainty troubleshooting
  12. Uncertainty and traceability
  13. Uncertainty and proficiency testing

Format

This is a two-day, instructor-led course.

Materials Provided

Student handouts and materials will be provided on a USB drive.

If you need to cancel, we will refund your paid registration fee as noted below.

Requests for cancellations/transfers/substitutions received at least 30 calendar days before the start of the course can receive a full refund/transfer/substitution. 
There are no refunds within 30 calendar days before the start of the course. 
Requests to transfer or substitute received between 29 and 10 calendar days of the course starting incur a $150 processing fee.
There are no transfers within 9 calendar days before the start of the course.  Substitutes may be accepted if content has not been accessed by original registrant.  Substitutions will incur a $150 processing fee.  
There are no refunds or substitutes if the content has been accessed. 
Enrolled students who fail to attend their registered course without advance notice are liable for the entire course fee. Substitutes will not be accepted after the course has begun. 
You must successfully complete the entire course or program before IACET CEUs and a Certificate of Completion can be awarded.
 


ANAB is not liable for failure to perform its obligations under this contract as a result of strikes, riots, curtailment of transportation, acts of God, or any other cause beyond its control. If the session is cancelled, the registration fee will be refunded or the fee can be transferred to an alternate session.
