The Inspection Division is pleased to announce that it will be offering three pre-conference courses.

Lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided.

Both ASQ courses will be from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. each day.
The CMS course will be on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., followed by the exam on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. - noon.

The Quality Summit: Operational Excellence At Its Peak

The technical program provides 30 sessions, each 45-50 minutes in length, four product tutorials and multiple tours.

Multiple tours will be offered on Friday afternoon.

Pre-Conference Course Cancellation Policy

Course Cancellation Policy

ASQ and the Inspection Division reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule courses and to change instructors. Please be advised that in the event of a course cancellation, ASQ and the Inspection Division is not responsible for airfare penalties or other travel related expenses you may incur.

If you need to cancel, we will refund your paid registration fee as noted below.

  • Requests for cancellations/transfers received at least 5 business days before the start of the course receive a full refund/transfer.
  • Requests received within 5 business days of the course starting incur a $150 processing fee.
  • After the course starts, there are no refunds or transfers.
  • Registrants who fail to attend without advance notice are liable for the entire course fee.
  • If you cannot find a substitute, we can transfer your course fees to another ASQ course of your choice.

You must successfully complete the entire course or program before IACET CEUs, if applicable, or ASQ Recertification Units and a Certificate of Completion can be awarded.

CQI Exam Preparation Course

Prepare for the ASQ Certified Quality Inspector exam as you review and practice the areas of the Body of Knowledge.

Reinforce your current understanding of the Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) Body of Knowledge. Get practice in applications that may not be used every day, and become familiar with “exam-style” questions throughout the course.

Students receive course materials and a copy of ASQ’s Certified Quality Inspector Handbook: Second Edition. Please bring a non-programmable calculator to class (T130 is recommended).

Note: This course is a refresher and though the Body of Knowledge will be covered in its entirety, due to time limitations, this course is not intended to cover all the components of the Body of Knowledge in great depth. Taking this course does not constitute, nor imply, the successful passing of the ASQ Certified Quality Inspector examination.

CMS Metrology Cert Prep Course and Exam

CMS Metrology Certification Preparatory Course & Exam

Certification for Level 1 Traditional and Portable CMM Operators

 

This preparatory course is designed to assist and inform students in the topics covered within the Coordinate Measurement Society’s (CMS) Level-One Certification for traditional CMM and Portable 3D Metrology.  The Tuesday class will review the five key knowledge areas in the exam, and then on Wednesday morning students will take the three-hour online exam. 
 
The five key topic areas as defined by the CMS include: 
 
Basic principles in interpreting engineering documents.
Effects of equipment and environment on measurement.
Factors in establishing a measurement and documentation plan.
Measurement Operations.
Ethics and Analysis.
 
The course begins with the basic fundamentals of measurement and dimensioning.  This section will include measurement units, traceability, uncertainty and the effects of the measurement environment.  Various measurement instruments will be explored along with their practical applications.
 
The course coverage of dimensioning will focus on Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and its real world connection to the measurement instruments of today.  Fundamental drawing practices, geometry, coordinate systems and general measurement strategies will all be touched on in this comprehensive preparatory course.
