Embark on an eye-opening three-week Lean Six Sigma training journey that unites Green and Black Belt participants, crafting a shared expertise in the essential principles and practices of Lean and Six Sigma. When properly deployed on carefully selected business projects, this methodology can lead to a significant reduction—and in many cases, elimination—of defects, process waste, and out-of-control processes, which translate into dramatic business gains. Our high-impact program guarantees a steadfast Green Belt knowledge foundation, ensuring participants are well-versed in the intricacies of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

This intensive three-week training is meticulously designed to equip quality professionals with the skills and insights needed to implement Lean Six Sigma in their industry and work responsibilities. (The focus is also on preparing participants to contribute effectively in a support capacity on a Black Belt project team.) Green Belts emerge as pivotal process stakeholders, armed with the capability to take on specific process-level improvement projects independently. These projects, while not mandating the statistical rigor demonstrated by a Black Belt, empower Green Belts to drive impactful improvements within their domains. Course Overview

Learning Objectives:

  • Function as a ‘tools application’ member of a Six Sigma project team.
  • Lead and execute process-level improvement projects.
  • Collect process data and develop process maps.
  • Develop statistical hypotheses using simple statistical tools.
  • Design simple experiments and/or implementation plans that help validate improvement options.
  • Apply problem solving and quantifiable tools to an improvement project brought to class on the first day.
  • Eliminate waste and defects by applying Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Learn how to execute the Six Sigma methodology.
  • Work with process owners to ensure process gains are held.

Prerequisites:

  • A defined, management-approved business improvement project that provides a positive business impact to your organization of $10,000 - $50,000. The knowledge and skills learned in this training course will be applied to this project.
  • Basic statistics is recommended. Basic college-level algebra to understand statistical concepts is a minimum.
  • Devote at least 25% of your time at your work environment to work on your project.
Each participant must own and install the latest Minitab version (statistical software) before the course start.

Details
This course is an instructor-led, virtual environment, conducted in multiple sessions. The instruction is a blend of lecture, application, and individual and team-based exercises.

ASQ courses provide online access to the digital course content for 365 days (online slide decks and downloadable workbook and data files), beginning five days before the first day of your course.
System Requirements
  • Latest version of Minitab Statistical Software is required and must be provided by the participant and loaded on their computer prior to the first day of class. You can purchase this directly from Minitab.
  • Laptop computers are required during class and must be provided by the participant, with the ability to browse the internet (with JavaScript and pop-ups enabled), to run Minitab, and to open Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files, and Adobe Acrobat PDF files. Administrator privileges recommended.
  • Online course delivery will be via WebEx: To prevent issues on your first training day, please join a WebEx test session in advance of your scheduled virtual training. Click https://www.webex.com/test-meeting.html from the device and browser you will use during class, and enter your name and email address to join―if successful, you will see a screen that says "Congratulations! Your system is now set up properly." If you do not have administrative privileges on that device, you may need the assistance of your local IT/IS help desk staff for the platform to engage correctly.

Individual Learning

  • Requests for cancellations/transfers/substitutions received at least 30 calendar days before the start of the course can receive a full refund/transfer/substitution.
  • There are no refunds within 30 calendar days before the start of the course.
  • Assess and work with various data collection plans and methods, as well as data charts and control charts.
  • There are no transfers within 9 calendar days before the start of the course. Substitutes may be accepted if content has not been accessed by original registrant. Substitutions will incur a $150 processing fee.
  • There are no refunds or substitutes if the content has been accessed.
  • Enrolled students who fail to attend their registered course without advance notice are liable for the entire course fee. Substitutes will not be accepted after the course has begun.
