Prerequisites:

  • A defined, management-approved business improvement project that provides a business impact to your business of $100,000 or greater. The knowledge and skills learned in this training course will be applied to this project.
  • Basic statistics primer or understanding of basic statistics. Basic college-level algebra to understand statistical concepts is a minimum.
  • Devote at least 40% of your time at your work environment to work on your project.

Details
This virtual course is an instructor-led, classroom-based environment, conducted five days (one week) per month spread across four months or three days per month spread across six months. The instruction is a blend of lecture, application, and individual and team-based exercises. Laptop computers will be used extensively during the class. There are normally three-to-four weeks between sessions where the individual returns to their work environment to apply the knowledge and skills learned in class to their projects.

ASQ courses provide online access to the digital course content for 365 days (online slide decks and downloadable workbook and data files), beginning five days before the first day of your course.
System Requirements
  • Latest version of Minitab Statistical Software is required and must be provided by the participant and loaded on their computer prior to the first day of class. You can purchase this directly from Minitab.
  • Laptop computers are required during class and must be provided by the participant, with the ability to browse the internet (with JavaScript and pop-ups enabled), to run Minitab, and to open Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files, and Adobe Acrobat PDF files. Administrator privileges recommended.
  • Online course delivery will be via WebEx: To prevent issues on your first training day, please join a WebEx test session in advance of your scheduled virtual training. Click https://www.webex.com/test-meeting.html from the device and browser you will use during class and enter your name and email address to join―if successful, you will see a screen that says "Congratulations! Your system is now set up properly." If you do not have administrative privileges on that device, you may need the assistance of your local IT/IS help desk staff for the platform to engage correctly.
