Professional Experience

Steve Babb has over 35 years of experience leading business and quality operations in medical device, chemical processing, aerospace, nuclear, information technology and business consulting industries.

Mr. Babb is an experienced consultant and performance improvement expert. He excels in practical application and training of quality improvement methodologies, particularly Lean Six Sigma, Design of Experiments, and Quality Engineering. Mr. Babb is an Instructor for ASQ, Villanova University, and Hillsborough Community College.

As one of GE’s early Six Sigma Master Black Belts, Babb led the complete Lean Six Sigma initiative in a global information technology business. He received a GE Young Engineer Award. Since then he has applied Lean Six Sigma in R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales/ Marketing functions for various industries. His broad and practical experience is a key to Mr. Babb’s success as an instructor.

Mr. Babb has been very active with ASQ and is a senior member. He served as Vice Chair of the ASQ Quality Management Division, and co-authored Lean Six Sigma, the Financial Impact.  Additionally, Mr. Babb was Chair and Programs Chair for the St. Petersburg-Tampa Section of ASQ for several years.

In addition to his degrees and ASQ certifications, Mr. Babb has been a licensed Professional Engineer. Mr. Babb won the National First Prize for an AIChE student design competition. He served as a Lead Auditor for the rigorous National Aerospace Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP). Mr. Babb holds ten patents and patents pending in the medical device and chemical processing fields, and served on several entrepreneurial advisory boards in the Tampa Bay area.
