Dr. Carlos A. Escobar is a Research Assistant at Harvard University. He worked at Amazon as a Research Scientist in the Last Mile Delivery Technology Team, where he developed and applied algorithms to speed up customer delivery times and provide new innovations to customers. Before joining Amazon, Carlos worked for General Motors (GM) for seven years as a Senior Researcher at the Manufacturing Systems Research Lab. He conducted research in Industry 4.0 and Quality 4.0; applied and developed algorithms to drive manufacturing innovation.
Dr. Escobar is the author of the book “Machine Learning in Manufacturing: Quality 4.0 and the Zero Defects Vision”. His research work interest lies within the 99% percentile as compared with the cohort of researchers registered in the ResearchGate platform. His research topic has been presented in top conferences and according to a published bibliometric study, he is considered one of the most cited and fruitful authors in Quality 4.0.
Dr. Escobar obtained his Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences with concentration in AI and master’s in quality engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey. He also obtained a master’s in industrial engineering from New Mexico State University and a master’s in management at Harvard University
Dr. Escobar was recognized as the SHPE Star of Today by the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). This award honors an engineer/scientist who has demonstrated outstanding technical excellence resulting in significant accomplishments. It also recognizes dedication, commitment, and selfless efforts to advance Hispanics in STEM careers. Dr. Escobar was in the Mexican national team of martial arts and today he enjoys teaching this sport to his colleagues
Ronald J. Kelley, PhD, ASQ CSSBB, is the founder and CEO of CiZen, a company focused on training and application development to empower mid-career professionals with the skills needed to thrive in an AI-enabled work environment.
He is a Lead Instructor and Curriculum Manager for the NSF I-Corps program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he integrates GenAI to develop interactive course material. Additionally, Ron is developing a specialized Business Model Coach powered by large language models tailored for innovation.
A successful entrepreneur, Ron has founded multiple startups in the energy and sustainability sectors, including a multi-million-dollar exit. Through Green Gap Solutions, he provides consulting and training in Lean Six Sigma, Innovation, and Risk Management, working with leading organizations to solve complex problems and optimize performance. Ron holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a Motorola and ASQ-certified Six Sigma Black Belt with over 30 U.S. patents.
In his personal time, Ron enjoys biking and playing blues on the harmonica. He serves as Deputy Region Director for Region 5 of ASQ.
Nicole Radziwill is an internationally recognized leader in digital transformation and next generation quality who has served on executive teams in SaaS, professional services, and national labs. She works at the intersection of data, analytics, quality, strategy, and emerging tech including AI. Currently Chief Data/AI Officer at Qzuku, she is a former SVP and Chief Data Scientist, and tenured Associate Professor of Data Science and Production Systems. Nicole is an Academician in the International Academy of Quality (IAQ), a Fellow of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and past Chair of the ASQ Software Division. She has a PhD in Quality Systems and is the author of data science and statistics textbooks used in 30+ universities, as well as Connected, Intelligent, Automated: The Definitive Guide to Digital Transformation and Quality 4.0 from (ASQ Quality Press, 2020) and Data, Strategy, Culture & Power (2024).
Gregory Robson teaches and writes in business ethics, technology ethics, and Christian ethics and is working on a second edition of Technology Ethics: A Philosophical Introduction and Readings (Routledge 2023). His latest articles are on social media firms, virtue, justice, and the ethics of profitable business. Before coming to Notre Dame, he studied economics and organizational development at Vanderbilt, government at Harvard, and philosophy at Duke, the Angelicum (Italy), and University of Arizona, and worked at Iowa State University and Wake Forest University. His research appears in, for instance, The Journal of Philosophy, Journal of Business Ethics, Economics and Philosophy, American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly, and Ethics and Information Technology. He recently co-represented the Society for Business Ethics at the APA Central.
