Emotional Intelligence and Six Sigma

Abstract:Emotional intelligence (EI), the ability to perceive, assess, and manage one's own emotions and the emotions of others, is vital to a project team environment and fits well with Six Sigma methodology. When time is limited, Six Sigma Black Belts must form teams quickly and obtain buy-in from team members. With high EI, projects start up faster and make more progress in the firsts weeks, thereby saving valuable time. When emotions are visualized as an abstract mathematical equation, a methodology can be developed that addresses emotions scientifically.
