Soccer Team Scores Its Goals With ISO 9001

Abstract:Like other members of the Grupo Salinas (GS) family of companies, the Mexican soccer team Monarcas Morelia must create value. GS relies on a quality management system and ISO 9001 registration to compel managers to seek continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. In 1998 Monarcas Morelia was at the bottom of its division and losing money, but eight months after developing its QMS, the team began earning a profit for shareholders. The team defines its customers as not just fans, but opposing teams, advertisers and sponsors, and team members and their families.
