People Equity: The Hidden Driver of Quality

Abstract:ASQ members, customers, and Quality Progress readers representing more than 30 industries participated in a survey to determine the impact and effectiveness of quality principles, practices, and techniques. Survey results clearly show the success of quality initiatives is unrelated to specific techniques or measures. The organizations receiving the highest marks have the support of upper management in quality initiatives, encourage a quality culture, and manage employees effectively. Organizations investing in people equity are more likely to be industry leaders. These organizations focus on developing the capabilities of individual employees and creating a higher degree of alignment with organizational strategies and priorities.
