Professional Experience

Peter Chatel worked for Nixon, Hargrave, Devans & Doyle (NHD&D) as an Environmental Specialist. While in this position, he focused on the emerging environmental regulations of the late 1970’s and early 80’s and guided client’s compliance program design and implementation.

Peter accepted a position with Arthur D. Little, Inc. (ADL) in Cambridge, Massachusetts where he advanced quickly in this consulting organization, becoming the youngest elected Director. He identified a growing market for EHS training and developed, launched and marketed ADL’s Training Institute for EHS Management in 1990. At this time, Peter was also asked to take over the leadership of the EHS Auditing department and practice. In this role, he was responsible for a $10MM revenue center and 40 full-time staff.

Peter was recruited by The Coca-Cola Company in 1992 to join a newly formed Environmental Technical Affairs department to help lead the Company’s corporate environmental programs. It was an opportunity to build an international organization from the ground up. During his time with Coca-Cola Company, Peter led the consolidation of the Company’s Corporate Quality Audit department, became Vice President for Quality and Analytical Services for Coca-Cola North America, assumed leadership of Operational Quality of the 20 company-owned manufacturing plants in North America, became Director of Field Support & Governance reporting to the Vice President and Chief Quality, Safety & Sustainable Operations Officer of The Coca-Cola Company, and headed up a newly formed group, Global Supplier Development in Corporate, Quality, Safety & Environment.

After 22 years with The Coca-Cola Company, Peter announced the formation of his consulting practice, The Chatel Consulting Group. This forward-thinking new firm focuses on leveraging real-world experiences and global connections in order to help organizations realize top- and bottom-line business improvements.
