Professional Experience

Chuck Gates is a retired Caterpillar Inc. Division Manager with 40 years of work experience which included global, managerial responsibilities for product design, manufacturing engineering, quality & reliability engineering, six sigma, lean, factory operations, supply chain management, human resources, training, and management development.  He also has over 30 years of teaching experience as an adjunct professor for a wide variety of technical and professional courses for DePaul University, Northern Illinois University, Olivet Nazarene University, and Lewis University.

 

Chuck serves as the ASQ Fox Valley Section Education Chair, an ASQ Customer-Supplier Division CSQP Contributor, the ASQ Healthcare Division Task Group Leader, the ASQ Lean Enterprise Division Member and Volunteer along with serving as the SME Chicago Chapter 5 Certification and Education Chair, SME International Certification Oversight and Appeals Committee Chair, and APICS Fox River Chapter Director of Quality Programs.

 

Chuck has been honored with several other awards and certifications including:  Master Professional Certification Instructor, Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE), Caterpillar Certified Lean/Six Sigma Champion, and Olivet Nazarene University Excellence in Teaching Award.

 

He has taught multiple ASQ, SME and APICS courses.
