Use of the Socratic Method in Teaching Statistical Thinking
Use of the Socratic Method in Teaching Statistical Thinking Description: There are many opportunities for teaching statistical concepts whether they occur in formal or informal settings. Many different teaching approaches can be used to best take advantage of these opportunities. In order to develop statistical thinking skills a Socratic teaching approach can be helpful. An example of applying a Socratic approach is given here as well as a discussion of how to successfully apply it in teaching situations.
