SPC and Measurement Quality Mini Paper Taken from the Spring 1991 Newsletter
Abstract: A precondition to performing a satisfactory Statistical Process Control (SPC) effort is to have an adequate measurement system. The five most common causes of problems for measurement systems are test precision, test resolution, test bias, test delay, and the difficulties associated with measuring product characteristics at different stages of a multi-step process. Pointers for the detection of these issues are also presented as well as remedies for attaining acceptable standards.
