Yaakov Sharon, Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Dead Sea Bromine Group (DSBG)
Yaakov Sharon is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt at Dead Sea Bromine Group (DSBG) in Beer-Sheva, Israel. He has been an ASQ member since 2002. Sharon, who earned a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, recently answered some questions about the importance of Six Sigma.
What do you think is most important in implementing a Six Sigma project?
It is important to have a vehicle to best learn Six Sigma tools and methods.
Why do you think Six Sigma is important?
It is important for better organization culture and quality products.
Why do you think quality is important?
It is important for customer satisfaction. And, quality = low cost.
What is your favorite benefit of quality?
High process capability and performance.
Why did you choose to go into the quality field?
It is the basis and grounds for improving every process (it is my formal education).
What is your best advice to someone new to quality?
To paraphrase an old saying, if you want to master the quality area, set a target to become a trainer in this field.
