Abstract
Agile software development is a customer-centric approach emphasizing working software and a short cycle for changes. Agile is iterative for this reason, and managers using agile might tend to rely on indefinitely having the opportunity to gain customer feedback. Adding lean and Six Sigma practices to agile's already customer-focused approach to development makes multiple customer collaborations on the product more informative, meaningful and profitable. Additionally, the efficiencies uncovered by the application of lean and Six Sigma practices can shorten all segments of the development cycle and translate, through collaboration with the customer, to a better product fit.
